  1. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me: and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

I Will In No Wise Cast Out

John 6:37

This verse has been used in the conversion of thousands as well as an inspiration to God's people as they have come near the door of death. Pastor James Durham said shortly before his death, "For all I have preached or written, there is one Scripture that I remember, or dare grip to; yea, I lay the weight of my salvation upon it, "Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out!"
  1. This Verse Points to an Individual Sinner . . . "Him that cometh to me . . ."
Too often we hide behind generalities, but Jesus calls us to individuality!
The gospel is a blessed truth when talked of in terms of the world, but it becomes a personal blessing when you experience it personally. "For God so loved me, that He gave His Son."
Sometimes God will say the same thing to His children, but it will be said to each of them.
  2. This Verse Points to an Impossible Situation . . . "Him . . . I will in no wise case out."
    1. Christ cannot disown His own . . .
Jesus uses a double negative in Greek when He says, "I will in no wise cast out."
Literally, "No! No!" Him that cometh to me will not, will not be cast out!
      What! says Satan,
      1. Will He not give up on you when He sees how you have failed? No! No!
      2. Will He not cast you off when He sees how weak your faith is? No! No!
      3. Will He not cast you off when He looks close and sees you clearly? No! No!
      4. Will he not get tired of you and look for someone better? No! No!
    2. Christ cannot disown us because . . .
      1. He would be violating His own feelings toward us His children.
Look at the whole tenor of His life on earth, He loved the trusting sinner!
      2. He would be violating His own word on behalf of His children.
"He that believeth on me shall be saved."
      3. He would be voiding His own work on behalf of His children.
"He shall see the travail of his soul and be satisfied."
    3. Don't let your experience lie to you!
Jesus did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance!
Both your past failures and your present sinfulness are burdens to be cast off!
  3. This Verse Points to an Invincible Saviour . . . "Him that cometh to me . . ."
The preceding portion of this verse states, "All that the Father giveth me shall come . . ."
    1. God gave His Son for you and will in turn give you faith.
This notion that God gave His Son that you might have a chance to be saved is both unscriptural and ludicrous. God gave His Son in order that His people shall be saved!
    2. When your faith is weak, God will show Himself strong.
"It is God which worketh in you both to will and to do His good pleasure" (Phil. 2:13).
    3. He has loved you, drawn you, accepted you, and WILL NOT cast you away!
"If the elect should perish then Jesus Christ should be very unfaithful to His Father, because God the Father hath given this charge to Christ, that whomsoever He elected, Christ should preserve them safe, to bring them to heaven." Christopher Love
